The client wanted to take a small entry with a low ceiling and give it some pizzazz as the entrance to a bungalow remake. The ceiling was reframed and vaulted. The walls were stripped of wallpaper and a heavy texture added. The crown was kept for effect. The chandelier was changed out and a hammered copper medallion created in a box to house the arts and crafts fixture as well as can light around the perimeter. The prairie-style door was added to help bring light in and give the room a sense of size. It is protected by a good-sized porch. The stairs, railing, and landing were changed to oak with wrought iron balusters. The finishing touches were a wool sisal runner on the stairs and an old stain glass window hung in the existing window.
