With three young girls and many friends, the clients wanted a great outdoor space to entertain along with functional space for the family. We enlarged the laundry room downstairs, did a bump-out mudroom, and added a covered deck with stone and a fireplace. Note the during pictures for the deck showing the process to lay the stone. We utilized the existing structure rather than throwing it away.
Above the laundry room, we added a bathroom/laundry room/closet to act like a Jack and Jill for two bedrooms. We also enlarged one of the bedrooms. The during pictures show the dollhouse look during framing and the complexity of matching the dutch hip roof. A key to maximizing the space was a number of cabinets in all available space. The project also included remodeling two other bathrooms.
